Ra’Essa As-Sidiq was born in North Minneapolis, MN. As a child, she attended Harvest Prepatory schools, along with Emerson Spanish Immersion, and later graduated from Armstrong High School.
Growing up in the Upper-Willard Hay neighborhood she often spent time at park & recreation centers, the Capri Theatre, libraries, and was an avid volunteer at her local place of worship- Masjid An-Nur. She also participated in many youth initiatives – specifically K.O.R.E., Minneapolis Step-Up, and Cookie Cart Bakery.
Ra’Essa currently works, and lives in the Jordan neighborhood and is eager to begin working on housing and employment issues within our community; having joined the HousingLink Board along with JACC, she hopes to use her knowledge as a community member and experienced service provider to create a cognitive change in our neighborhoods.
